The monument is a copy of the Soviet Warrior Memorial in Treptower Park in Berlin. It was built to commemorate Nikolay Masalov, a soldier from Kuzbass. In spring of 1945, he risked his life to save a little girl from the enemy attack during the battle for Berlin.
