Sergey Alekseyev, Deputy Chairman of the Kuzbass Government, took part in a meeting on the holding of the 2nd Winter Children of Asia International Sports Games

The issues of holding the 2nd Winter Children of Asia International Sports Games in Kuzbass and organizing the team participation of Siberian regions were discussed today at a meeting led by Anatoly Seryshev, the Plenipotentiary Representative of the Russian President in the Siberian Federal District . The meeting was attended by Vladimir Maksimov, President of the Children of Asia Games International Committee, Sergey Alekseyev, Deputy Chairman of the Kuzbass Government, Pavel Rostovtsev, Head of the Siberian Federal District delegation .

"For the first time, the Children of Asia Sports Games will be held in Siberia. This is an extremely important event for us. In order for the event to be held at the highest level, a lot of preparatory work has been carried out in Kuzbass", said the Plenipotentiary.

The competition will involve eight sports facilities in the cities of Kemerovo, Novokuznetsk, Mezhdurechensk and Tashtagol municipal district. Four of them were repaired and reconstructed as part of the preparation stage.

"The organization of competitions in four cities of the region is a good opportunity to show that sports are developing not only in large settlements, guests will be able to see our nature and feel Russian and Siberian hospitality", the Plenipotentiary said.

The Plenipotentiary paid special attention to ensuring public order and the children's safety. The actions of all departments and services should be coordinated and brought to automatism, Anatoly Seryshev added.

Also, the difference in cultural traditions and mentality of guests coming from abroad should be accounted. In total, 12 foreign teams are planned to participate. Every guest should have the opportunity to spend an interesting time and get positive emotions from staying in the land of Siberia. In addition, it is necessary to widely cover the competitions in the media and social networks, so that children, looking at the achievements of their peers, will come to the wonderful world of sports.

The participants of the meeting discussed the preparation of the Siberian Federal District team. According to the results of the qualifying competitions, which took place from October 2022 to January 2023, the Siberian national team includes representatives of 6 federal subjects: 39 girls and 61 boys, as well as 46 coaches, team representatives, and the head of the delegation. Kuzbass, as the host, will be represented by a separate team.

"We wish good luck to our young athletes. It is important that, with the support of adults, they set their hearts and show the best results", Anatoly Seryshev said.
