At the Kuzbass Ice Palace in Kemerovo, 585 sports schools’ students set a world record for the most massive skating lesson. Kuzbass residents exceeded the previous result – 523 participants, which was set on January 18, 2014 at the Medeo skating rink in Kazakhstan. The event was dedicated to 100 days before the start of the 2nd Winter Children of Asia International Sports Games in Kuzbass, the countdown started on November 16.
"We dedicate various sports achievements to 100 days before the start of the Children of Asia Games. And with this bright record we want to support the participants of the upcoming competitions. After all, sport is about unification, skill, the ability to work in a team and reach new heights", said Vladislav Nefedov, Head of the Kuzbass Regional Center for Sports Facilities.
For 20 minutes, the participants did exercises under the guidance of Ekaterina Savitskaya, President of the Kemerovo Region Figure Skating Federation. The record was witnessed by the Russian Book of Records. Each participant received a commemorative medal.
