The Oleg Korolenko Kuznetsk Metallurgists Arena opens in Novokuznetsk on February 8

The reconstructed arena will become one of the main Children of Asia Games venues in Kuzbass.

The total area is more than 25 thousand square meters, the stands capacity is about 7 thousand people.

The arena was named after Oleg Korolenko, a legendary athlete, captain of the Metallurg hockey team of the 1960s, Master of Sports of the USSR. Over 10 seasons, Korolenko scored 253 goals, 179 of them in the highest league of the USSR Championship. In the 1960-1961 season, he got the puck into the goal 23 times and became one of the top scorers. Oleg Korolenko passed away in 2021. Now, at the main entrance of the Kuznetsk Metallurgists Arena, a sculpture of the famous hockey player will greet the fans.

On February 8, the Legends of Hockey and amateur Forge of Victory teams will play here.

The famous hockey player Vyacheslav Fetisov, 9 Olympic Hockey Champions of different years, KHL (Kontinental Hockey League) President Alexey Morozov, legendary Alexander Yakushev and Andrey Kovalenko, named “Russian tank”, will be members of the Hockey Legends team.
