The first torchbearer was wrestler Pavel Pinigin, Olympic champion, winner of the World and European Championships . Together with him, the torch was carried through the central streets of the city by famous sportsmen and medalists of the past Games "Children of Asia".
The length of the distance was 2.1 km . The relay started at the monument to Peter Beketov, the route ran along Kirov Street and finished at the Elley Bootur Ice Palace, where the Children of Asia International Committee museum is located.
Vladimir Maksimov, President of the Children of Asia Games International Committee, handed the capsule with Fire to Sergey Alekseyev, Deputy Chairman of the Kuzbass Government. Sergey Alekseyev handed the torch of the 2nd Winter Children of Asia International Sports Games to the Committee museum.
The Fire will arrive in Kuzbass on January 24 in a special capsule. It will pass through Novokuznetsk, Tashtagol municipal district, Mezhdurechensk, Kemerovo and will finish its journey on February 25 at the opening ceremony of the Games at the Kuzbass Ice Palace.
