Daria Kosolapova, Sofia Goncharenko, Artem Gorislavsky and Matvey Sumenkov will become national team members of the Far Eastern Federal District.
The selection for the Games took place at two competitions – the Сhampionship of the Far East near Komsomolsk-on-Amur and the All-Russian Сompetitions "Prize in memory of R. Shaikhlislamov" in Bashkiria.
Young athletes spend two two-hour workouts per day during almost the whole week. Classes include both track races on the "Mountain Air" Sport Tourism Complex and general physical training in the gym.
The Children of Asia Alpine Skiing Sports Program includes 4 disciplines – Supergiant, Giant Slalom, Slalom and Team events. The starts will be held in Mezhdurechensk, at the Yugus Winter Sports Center.
“In 2021, I have already performed on these slopes. There is a good track there, not as difficult as "Mountain Air", but the mountain terrain is interesting. I am sure there will be a very strong competition at the Children of Asia. Therefore, now I am making every effort, trying to become stronger not only physically, but also psychologically”, shared Sofia Goncharenko.
Sakhalin Region will be represented by 13 athletes as part of the Far Eastern Federal District team at the Children of Asia Games. In addition to alpine skiers, snowboarders Kristina Zaitseva and Nikita Majara, skiers Sergey Slyusarenko and Victoria Ilyushenko, figure skater Angelina Kim, as well as flying skiers Dmitry Seregin, Nikita Belenok, Elizaveta Markevich and Polina Pak will go to the competitions.
